The Measure of a Man

Thierry is a 51-year-old father and factory worker who has been laid off and can’t find work as his benefits are running out. After 20 months on unemployment, several useless professional trainings and hopeless job interviews he finally finds a job as a store detective. The new job soon confronts him with a moral dilemma. To what degree is he willing to accept the laws of the market ...

Stéphane Brizé sharply observes the dictate of measurability and the omnipresence of judgements in our professional and personal world and without broad strokes, masterly casually draws the big picture of our society.

Stéphane Brizé
was born in 1966 in France. He studied Electronis and moved to Paris where he started his carreer at the theater and on televison. He directed many short and long films.
