Napoli Jungle
Three chapters. Three generations. Giggino, a 50-year-old jack of all trades, restaurant poet and small street thief. His father Antonio, a pensioner from Italsider and nostalgic of the old factory days and what they represented. Expert and promulgator of Maradona’s deeds. 80 years old, maybe more. Finally, Marco, an 18-year-old deli shop boy, chasing a future but not knowing how. 18 years old. Around them a jungle of a very populated neighborhood, Bagnoli, in a great city, Naples, where purpose was lost and a new one has not yet been found.
Antonio Capuano is a well of surprises, with this touching off-the-wall piece of direct cinema he re-invents himself after numerous participations in the Venice competition.
Antonio Capuano
was born in 1940 in Naples where he still lives and works. Director, screenwriter, theater author and professor at the Fine Arts Academy of his city. After working for a long time as an art director at RAI he arrived to cinema in 1991 with VITO E GLI ALTRI for which he won several prizes at festivals.
