SFFF meets Talis Film concert

Like the years before, the SFFF celebrated halftime for the following Saas-Fee Filmfest and together with its partner Talis Festival & Academy presented a Film concert in Saas-Fee.

Acompagnied live by a six-person Talis-ensemble, Robert Parlier d'Ollon's poetic film document SIERRE ET VAL D'ANNIVIERS (1944) excited film fans in Saas-Fee's Reformed Church. At the film concert a newly composed score by Talis Academy alumnus Sunny Knable came to its world premiere.

Please welcome film critic Tommaso Tocci who will support the festival team from September 2017. Together with festival director Stefan Fichtner he will be responsible for the programme selection of the feature film competition FILMS FROM FIVE COUNTRIES. Tommaso has covered international film festivals for various publications like The Film Stage, Filmmaker Magazine, Cinema Scope and Indiewire.

He has worked for the Edinburgh International Film Festival, Berlinale Talents and the Berlinale European Film market. Tommaso will return to Saas-Fee after being a member of the Critics Jury of 3th Saas-Fee Filmfest. The Festival Team is looking forward to a great collaboration!

Warm thanks!

to Gabriel Zurbriggen, who since the closure of 4th SFFF has started to dedicate himself again to his other projects, mainly his acting. Warm thanks for 4 years, in which together with co-founder Stefan Fichtner he brought the festival to where it is now. Thanks to his untirable graas root work SFFF has gained strong support in Saas-Fee and can look towards the future with confidence.

After 4 successful festival editions a 2-man-show has become a 20-person team who embraces this event. The entire festival team wishes Gabriel joy and success with his new projects and is looking forward to reuniting at future festival editions - in front of the screen and on screen!

3. SFFF-Critics Choice WILD awarded with Bronze Lola

SFFF sends its congratulations to its 2016 Critics Choice WILD. Nicolette Krebitz's seductive, dark trip into the soul of civilized humanity received the Bronze Lola for Best Film on 28.04.17 at Palais am Funkturm, Berlin.

Oscar-Academy Neuzugang Ursula Meier

Unsere herzliche Gratulation an Ursula Meier!
