Der Nachtmahr
Tina is 17 years old and seemingly has everything a girl her age could wish for. But one night after an intense party, she begins having severe nightmares. From this point forward she is haunted daily by a profoundly hideous creature. The only one with whom she talks about her fears is her psychiatrist, who encourages her to get in touch with the creature. Out of fear of being taken for a freak by her friends and family, she hides the creature in her room. And as time goes by she is less and less disgusted by it. The creature turns out to be a friendly, polite fellow, although a bit autistic. A trusting relationship develops between Tina and the creature, much like with a stray pet ...
AKIZ’s exceptional project which enjoys a developing time of 13 years achieves a touching and visually intoxicating cinematic metaphor. With a wonderful guest appearance by pop icon Kim Gordon.
AKIZ
studied directing at the Film Academy Baden-Wuerttemberg. His diploma film is nominated for an Oscar. Besides filmmaking he works on sculptures and paintings as well as several art projects. In 2012 AKIZ founded the production company OOO-Films. DER NACHTMAHR is its first feature production for cinema.
