Die rote Schildkröte

A man gets shipwrecked, strands on a deserted island and builds a float. But a mysterious force keeps him from leaving the island ...

Oscar-decorated director Michael Dudok de Wit narrates an enchanting tale about the circle of life and love. THE RED TURTLE is the first European film, which was co-produced by the famous Japanese Ghibli-Studio (SPIRITED AWAY). Not like many contemporary animation films it was partly drawn by hand.

Michael Dudok de Wit
was born in 1953 in Abcoude, Utrecht, Netherlands. He works as an animation film director and animator.
