Hans-Jochen Wagner
born in 1968 in Tübingen and lives in Berlin. Graduated at the Ernst-Busch-Academy of Dramatic Arts and did a film acting workshop at the Film Academy Baden Württemberg. From 1997 to 1999 he played at the Wiener Burgtheater which was followed by a two year engagment at Deutsches Theater. Since 2002 he has acted at theatres in Berlin, Düsseldorf and Zurich as well as in numerous film- and television productions.

Christine Repond
born in 1981 in Basel and lives in Munich. From 2002 to 2004 she took diverse video and film classes at he Schools for Design in Bern and Basel and did several experimental films and photographical works. In 2004 she held an internship as video journalist at TeleBärn in Bern. From 2004 to 2007 film studies with focus on directing at Macromedia Munich, Academy for New Media, graduating with the Bachelor of Arts.

Markus Schleinzer
born in Vienna in 1971, actor in Austrian and German Film- and TV productions. Casting director of more than 60 film and TV productions. Worked as actor and director for theater plays. In 2011 he realised as director and script writer his first feature film Michael which made it in Cannes competition and won the Max-Ophüls-Award. Currently working on his second feature film Angelo.

Critics Jury


Cristina Nord
is a film editor writing for the culture section of the daily newspaper taz. die tageszeitung, and teaches film critic at the Free University of Berlin. Christina Nord is curating film programmes every now and then, most recently in 2014 on the theme days Krieg erzählen in the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin (House of World Cultures). In 2013 she received the Siegfried-Kracauer-Award for the best film critic.

Jay Weissberg
NY-born Jay Weissberg lives in Rome and has been a film critic with the industry paper Variety since 2003, travelling to film festivals throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. In addition to covering contemporary cinema, he’s published on aspects of silent film and has programmed for the Pordenone Silent Film Festival and Bologna’s Cinema Ritrovato. He’s also acted as mentor in programs for young film critics in Rotterdam, Berlin, Cairo, Locarno and Abu Dhabi.

Christoph Schneider
Born in 1954 in Basel. He graduated in theatre studies and journalism from University of Vienna and worked as a freelance culture journalist mainly for the Basler Zeitung. Between 1987 and 2000 he was editor of the Suisse Television and film critic for the Basler Zeitung and the Neue Zürcher Zeitung. Until end of 2003 he worked as film editor at the Zürcher Tages-Anzeiger. Since 2004 he regularily writes as freelancer in the culture section of this newspaper.
