Enrico Oliveri (Toni Servillo), leader of the main opposition party, is depressed: the election is coming up and current polls suggest things aren’t going his way. Unable to face the situation, Enrico ups and leaves one night to hide with his former lover Danielle (Valeria Bruni Tedeschi). The party leadership tries to keep it hush-hush, and so éminence grise Andrea Bottini approaches his look-alike brother. Although Giovanni Ernani is the spitting image of Enrico, the excentric philosopher is diametrically opposed in character. Giovanni who takes the place of his disappeared brother starts to like his role and stirs up Italian politics ...
In this exquisite comedy around the mistaken identity of politician Enrico Oliveri Toni Servillo shoots off a double-firework of his minimalist acting-artistry.
