With a bird‘s eye view the documentary shows the Mont Blanc, the Dolomites, the Aletsch Glacier in Valais, the Algäu. The shots with the advanced Cineflex-Camera show pictures of the Alps that even alpinists have never seen before. Streets, little settlements and the mountains almost merge to an abstract painting from this unusual perspective. With all the unseen beauty, Die Alpen also shows how fragile the mountain world is and how man tries to occupy this natural space.
